Great ballet slipper, fits true to size
These ballet slippers are perfect. However, I don't know if they have possibly changed the sizing because I read the other reviews and followed their suggestion to order a half-size larger. And of course, they are too big now. Not terribly so, but enough that I wish I would have ordered my daughter's regular size. Oh, well. Four-year-olds grow fast, so I'm sure she'll grow into these by the time the dance recital comes around!I did measure her feet with a tape measure and compared it to the sizing chart provided. She measured right at an 11, so I ordered an 11.5. I definitely recommend measuring with a tape measure and ordering true to size. Top to learn more

Cute, Fits Well
They fit true to size. They look and feel like they should. They are good quality. My daughter seems to think that they're comfortable.They are a little narrow looking, but that's typical. They still fit my daughter's wide feet and the leather will stretch.I'm very pleased with them.

A good slipper
These are true to size, seem to be made well and the leather feels soft and comfortable. The little bow in front is actually like a draw string which can be tightened or loosened to fit.

This Sizing Works!
Having enjoyed Isotoner slippers for many years, I was sorely disappointed when they changed their sizing/fit several years ago. The package sizing remained the same, however, they decided to "scrimp" on the fabric. Consequently, newly purchased slippers, though well within my known size range, (supposedly through a 10 1/2) still ran short in the toe (I wear a 10), thus far less comfortable. Was I sure...you bet. I still have an ancient pair that when I slip on, are an excellent fit.No stores carried sizes beyond XL...until I saw these on Amazon. I ordered them in XXL and they really do fit. Re-ordered 2 more pair for each of my daughters (who've had the same problem).I have to give 4 stars as I've found their overall quality is not quite what it used to be...but at least they fit! Great Dance Shoe - Size Runs Small

Great pair of ballet slippers
My 4 year old son recently started pre-ballet classes. There isn't anywhere around where I live to buy ballet slippers. I was apprehensive to order them after reading about the sizing issues many people have had. Here is my tip. Use the size chart Amazon offers for children's shoes. I measured his foot, it measured at size 11 1/2, so I ordered a 12 so he won't grow out of them so fast, and they fit just like I wanted them to, with a little bit of room to grow, but not too much. He wears a size 10 street shoe, so I did end up ordering up 2 sizes. I will also add that he has wide feet, but I ordered a D width (normal) and they are a bit tight, but I've been told they stretch to fit their width with wear. I'm very happy with the slippers, and so is my son, and he is picky about shoes that don't fit right. Remember, just use the size chart! Top to learn more

These are perfect for Folk Dancing. The elastic ties are already sewn on. The sizes run small. I wear a US Women's 10 1/2, Men's 9 1/2, and the dance shoe size 11 was WAY too short. About 1/2 inch too short. Also, you cannot exchange. Refund only. Top to learn more

Super comfy once broken in
I got these slippers for my belly dancing classes and I'm getting ready to order 2 more. I've had my first pair since July of last year and after consistently wearing them for about 2 hours of dancing per week ever since, they are still in great condition. I'm only ordering more because I am going to be doubling my time in the studio and would like to have a backup since I'm going to need to wash them more frequently. I'm also wearing them around the house and for quick trips outside, so eventually the old pair will break down. The patches under the ball of the foot and the heel are very odd and uncomfortable at first and will stay that way until you break them in. The heel patch is placed too far forward and at first I HATED it, but I found that it kept me from placing too much weight on my heels, which was a good thing, and now that it has been broken in I don't even feel it anymore.A tip on sizing: these run very small- I'd say about 2 sizes. Great ballet slipper for casual or serious dancer
If you're the type who hates the elastic drawstrings inherent on traditional ballet shoes, these are for you! The edges are rimmed with a soft ~1/2" of elastic which helps the shoe mold to your foot without any gaps. The split soles have held up better than my Bloch leather slippers, and in all I feel these are much better shoes.What keeps these from being a 5 star product? 2 things: 1) The heel. Numerous reviewers have said it, but there is simply too much fabric in the heel, and it ends up bunching. With that said, for some reason the material really doesn't interfere with your ability to dance or "feel the floor," so in all, it's just an aesthetic thing. 2) The crossed elastics. They come pre-sewn, and I'm simply the type who prefers to place and sew her own. This is an easy fix with a stitch ripper and some thread, but annoying none the less.These are definitely my favorite soft ballet shoes. I have only raised boys and have therefore only had to worry about buying things like baseball and football equipment, but my brother has a daughter and I have helped him with a few things for her, including helping him find ballet shoes for her... As with any shoes of course you will definitely want to be sure that the ballet shoes fit properly so you need to bring the child along with you so they can try the shoes on, unless you are buying on the internet. Of course there are some boys taking ballet as well, mine would never have done it but Arnold Schwarzenegger took ballet to help him with his bodybuilding competitions and I doubt very seriously if anyone ever teased him about it. But, I digress. Of course you always want to look for quality when shopping for any type of shoe and ballet shoes are no exception to this rule. Most ballet shoes will feature a strap that helps keep the shoe where it should be and this is something that is necessary for children.
It’s recommended you buy them 1/2 size larger than you normally wear so there’s room for swelling, and you should also start wearing them around your house to break them in if they’re not 100% comfortable to start with. I know I have certain brands of shoes, and heel heights, that work very well for me – sadly, I can’t wear PayLess shoes. Or if you want or need to wear heels for the ceremony you can wear something that goes with your dress and change into flats for the reception. Don’t buy shoes online.
